Checking the Five Rights

Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Dose, Right Time, Right Method of Administration

A printed wristband avoids the errors, omissions or legibility problems associated with handwritten ones. The addition of a bar code provides an instant link to electronically held data and supports the Five Rights for drug administration as well as providing safeguards for other patient care activities:
