The Loftware Connector™
The Loftware Connector™ is a new connectivity module which bridges Loftware's current enterprise bar code printing technology, the Loftware Print Server, Premier Edition, to applications such as Oracle® (8i and above). This new solution from Loftware eliminates complicated programming tasks and quickly allows application developers and integrators to connect applications (such as Oracle®) and systems to corporate back-end bar code label printing systems.
Users administrating applications will find that the Loftware Connector™ has a familiar interface, is easy to use, and eliminates the need for unreliable data transfer and connection methods. Used in conjunction with Loftware's renowned bar code print server technology, it is easy to perform all label printing tasks across LAN/WAN, Internet and Wireless networks. Invoking a Java Object the database application immediately pushes the label data to the Loftware Print Server. Once the Loftware Print Server receives the data, bar code labels are quickly routed and printed to any attached network Windows® or bar code thermal transfer printer.

The Loftware Connector™ was developed and tested for small and large-scale enterprise label printing. Scalability testing included over 60 users printing to over 600 different printers. After exhaustive testing, the Loftware Connector™ showed no degradation in terms of overall performance and speed when used in large scale printing environments. The Loftware Connector™ is proven to be a dependable and solid solution for connecting databases such as Oracle® to Loftware enterprise label printing systems.
How does it work?
Once installation is complete, the Loftware Connector™ performs its functions at high speed. The application is hosted on a database server, and the Loftware Connector™ initiates a label and pushes data from a database (such as Oracle®) to the Loftware Print Server (Step 1). Upon receiving data, the LPS drives labels to printers locally, across LAN/WAN, the Internet or to Wireless devices. (Step 2). The label is printed and the Application is notified of print status (Step 3). All of this happens in just seconds without the need to write special applications or perform custom programming. It's that simple.

Loftware Connector™ 2.1 is available as a separate purchase along with the Premier (formerly Enterprise) Edition Version 7.2.2.11+
Loftware Print Server™, Premier Edition:
The Premier Edition comes complete with licensing for 10 printer and 4 client seats and a one (1) year, renewable, Annual Support Contract. The Loftware Connector™ (Version 2) is a separate purchase.
